About the Town Garage and Public Department Workers
Ed Kasacek has received much apprecation for the outstanding support he has shown to the Town of Andover. He handles the day to day duties at the Town Garage in a professional manner and goes out of his way to help many residents. Ed has rallied to help the seniors on many occasions.
How many of our Andover residents know exactly what our Public Department workers do for us? I, for one, did not have the full scope of their duties until I went down to the Town Garage and took their photos and talked to Ed Kasacek, Foreman of the Town Garage.
Ed, Tom Pealr and Tim Higley are full time employees and Mark Williams works part time helping with the removal of snow. Public Departmental workers have been doing an outstanding job for us keeping our town roads as clear as possible during the winter. They have been busy this spring sweeping all the roads and making our streets look nicer after the winter wear and tear on them.
Ed and his men work extremely hard to keep the streets safe and clear for all Andover residents. I mentioned to Ed this past winter our street was in the best condition we have seen in many years. It should be noted, if a resident is plowing his/her own driveway, and the town comes through with their trucks and sees you working the men are extra careful to avoid plowing in your driveway! Kudos to these fine men for doing a great job in taking care of us.
In the spring they repair pot holes in the road when necessary, repair the town vehicles and do quarterly maintenance on the Senior Dial-A-Ride vans. This all may seem routine to residents but a lot of time and effort goes into keeping four large trucks, one small truck, a back hoe, and a pick up truck in perfect running order.
These men go about their jobs quietly and while they appear to be on the shy side they are very pleasant to speak with and each of them has a great sense of humor.
The next time you are driving by the Town Garage on Longhill Road why not stop by and just thank these men for an outstanding job they are doing for us?
